I am Akis (or a kiss :)) and I made this website for presenting my CS profile as it used to be, before all these changings that took place during last years and have transformed CS from an alive community to a soulless "free accomodation" search engine... (Even the profile itself was a revolution back to those times, when CS was just a white page with basic titles in bold letters: some few of us used html code and... created art :D)
My story with hospitality exchange networks goes many years back: being maybe the one who first thought to create such sites like HC and CS (big story, you can ask for details), plus the fact that after I joined CS I got deep in many aspects, both within site as in real life too, gave me the nicknames "CS guru", "CS Athens living history" and a few more... :)
I was (and still am) the moderator of Greece group, I also was the last moderator of Athens group (before all cities groups were deleted), created some more groups, I've "built" an entire CS community in a French city within 3 months (from 4 inactive members to... 120), I organized several meetings in Greece (been considered as "the top guide") and abroad and I gave tons of info to thousands of CS members all these years...They also wrote about me in newspaper and magazine articles and I also had a whole episode to a relevant documentary on an online Irish TV channel: yep, quite famous I can say ;)
Two characteristic comments for my history in CS: first one, when a friend who had a big journey in Latin America joined a meeting in Buenos Aires and while talking to a couple who had visited Athens, they told him about the "great long-haired guy" who had organized a fantastic meeting, being the only local member whom they were still remembered of :) And second one I heard from several members (including moderators of groups), when they told me that I had created maybe the best city group in entire CS while I was moderator in Athens group: I felt really honored to listen such thing from such creative persons, therefore I created also a page here with that group, exactly as it used to look like a bit before it was deleted... :) (Some links might not work though, coz "new CS" decided to delete everything useful and beautiful...)
Why did I create this website out of CS? First and main reason, I named it already. CS didn't respect at all those persons who gave their time and their soul even, to make this site an alive community. Watching also the main behaviour of new CS members nowadays, I see the freeloaders' mentality to get even worse, plus a lot of hypocricy around, about friendships (I accept facebook friend requests even from people I don't know..!), about dating or not within site (ppfff: ask me about! I will include this issue to my novel I am about to write ;)), about functionality for finding finally a host for all members and genders... And least but not last, people don't read anymore before sending a request, even the much smaller profile I created, even the basic info..!
For all these reasons, I moved my real profile here and I change the CS one with a profile that... fits to this "new CS" and its new members: short, accurate, direct, including only what I am into or interested in nowadays. And if I host not any new guest with this new CS profile, it's ok, I hosted already more than enough I think: my 112 positive only references (plus the ones that are not there anymore, since the ones who wrote them moved to other sites, like BW) prove this better than any other thing. :)
